Amy Bidwill
Amy Bidwill is a Counselor in Training at Self Care Counseling, currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Xavier University. With a passion for helping others and a deep understanding of the challenges faced in mental health, she is dedicated to empowering clients to navigate their journeys with resilience and strength.
Amy believes in creating a safe and supportive environment where clients can feel empowered to achieve their goals. Her counseling approach focuses on providing hope and encouragement, helping individuals feel more empowered and hopeful in their current situations. Her background in working with children and teens on life skills and group therapy has given her valuable experience in connecting with clients and addressing their unique needs.
During her undergraduate years at Wittenberg University, Amy worked with Oesterlen Services for Youth, a non-profit organization, where she helped children and teens build life skills. Her dedication and commitment to the field were recognized through the Meagan Toothman Psychology Scholarship, awarded to passionate and community-engaged psychology majors.
Aligned with the mission of Self Care Counseling, Amy is dedicated to fostering growth, healing, and self-empowerment in every client she works with. By combining her passion and commitment with her growing expertise, she contributes to creating an environment where clients thrive.
Outside of her professional role, Amy enjoys yoga, pilates, baking, spending time with family and friends, and curling up with a good movie or a rejuvenating nap. As a certified yoga sculpt instructor, she incorporates mindfulness and movement into her personal life, which enhances her understanding of the mind-body connection and contributes to her work in mental health. Her love for reading books on mental health topics further enriches her knowledge and ability to support her clients.
Amy is committed to growing as a counselor and aims to expand her therapeutic skill set. Her ultimate goal is to establish meaningful, therapeutic relationships with her clients, providing them with the resources and support they need to overcome life’s challenges. She hopes to create a warm, safe, and empowering space where clients leave each session feeling more hopeful and confident. Amy is thrilled to be part of the Self Care Counseling team and looks forward to walking alongside clients as they work toward their mental health goals.
